Why S.T.E.M philosophy?

STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. STEM curriculum is based on the philosophy of educating students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in an inter-disciplinary and applied approach rather than seperate and compartmentalized subjects.

STEM curriculum is project and inquiry based.

Technology

The technology component provides a creative and innovative way to learn problem solving and apply what has been learnt. Students use highly specialized professional applications at very early age. Technology ties all the other fields of study together to deliver university ready results.

Vision

Canadian International Private School (C.I.P.S.) will be a centre of academic excellence in providing internationally recognized education, based on the Alberta Program of Studies: High School, that supports student transition to post-secondary education.
Students will acquire the skills, knowledge and aptitudes needed for academic excellence and personal development in a safe, secure and caring learning environment.

Mission

Canadian International Private School (C.I.P.S.) is committed to providing outstanding teaching and learning experience to all students in a safe, secure and caring environment.

The board of Canadian International Private School (C.I.P.S.) believes that by providing a learning environment that supports their cultural and second language needs, international students, primarily from Southeast Asia, will be better prepared to challenge the requirements of the high school Alberta Program of Studies and earn enough credits to achieve a high school diploma. In a culturally sensitive environment, where teachers and learners are expected to share responsibility for the learning processes, the core values of perseverance, integrity, accountability, safety and mutual respect will be promoted to prepare the students for postsecondary education and lifelong learning.

C.I.P.S. will employ certificated teaching staff who are prepared to respect and support students who must deal with the challenge of cultural differences in both school and society at large. Every effort will be made to support and improve students’ English language proficiency as an essential skill for students to fully master the skills, knowledge and attitudes of the Alberta Program of Studies.
